Quando si parla del repertorio di Eric Clapton, è difficile immaginare qualcuno che ne conosca l’anima meglio di Nathan East e Steve Ferrone. È per questo che il progetto The Cream of Clapton Band, in arrivo nei principali teatri italiani a marzo 2026, si preannuncia come uno degli eventi musicali più autentici dell’anno.
A differenza delle innumerevoli cover band, questo progetto vanta un riconoscimento d’eccezione: quello dello stesso "Slowhand". Eric Clapton non solo sostiene l'iniziativa, ma ne affida l'esecuzione ai suoi collaboratori storici.
Al centro della scena troviamo Nathan East, il bassista che per oltre quarant’anni è stato l'ombra ritmica di Clapton, contribuendo a definire il suono di album leggendari e tour mondiali. Accanto a lui, la potenza elegante di Steve Ferrone, batterista che ha segnato le stagioni più iconiche della carriera del chitarrista di Ripley.
Il progetto non guarda solo al passato, ma celebra una continuità quasi familiare. La formazione è completata da Will Johns, chitarrista e cantante di razza nonché nipote di Clapton, e dal giovane talento delle tastiere Noah East, figlio di Nathan. Questa unione intergenerazionale permette di rileggere i grandi classici con uno sguardo contemporaneo, mantenendo intatto quel "linguaggio comune" che solo chi ha vissuto in studio e in tour con Eric può possedere.
Il debutto italiano è fissato per giovedì 19 marzo 2026 al Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine.
