Tra le pieghe più vive della scena culturale milanese, la rassegna GERMI’N’JAZZ continua a muoversi come un organismo in ascolto, capace di trasformare ogni appuntamento in un punto di contatto tra linguaggi, sensibilità e geografie sonore. Dopo i primi incontri del 2026, il prossimo capitolo, in programma martedì 7 aprile, porta sul palco i MURMURATION.
Il progetto Murmuration prende il nome dal fascino ipnotico degli stormi di uccelli che danzano in volo: un comportamento collettivo senza leader né direzioni predefinite, dove la forma nasce dal movimento dinamico e sincrono. Questa immagine diventa la metafora perfetta per l'intesa tra i tre musicisti, impegnati in un dialogo costante che sfuma i confini tra composizione e improvvisazione.
È qui che prende forma il dialogo tra Maria Pia De Vito, Huw Warren e Fulvio Sigurtà: un intreccio che sfuma i confini tra scrittura e improvvisazione.
Al centro, la voce della De Vito, tra le più autorevoli del jazz internazionale, si muove con naturalezza tra tradizione e ricerca, attraversando il free jazz, l’elettronica e la cultura napoletana. Accanto a lei, il pianismo di Warren costruisce paesaggi sonori complessi e stratificati, dove convivono folk europeo, suggestioni brasiliane e una sensibilità compositiva fuori dagli schemi. A completare questo equilibrio dinamico, la tromba di Sigurtà interviene come una terza voce narrativa: misurata, intensa, capace di dare respiro e profondità al racconto.
Il repertorio si muove tra composizioni originali e riletture contemporanee, ma ciò che davvero emerge è una tensione continua verso una forma di jazz viscerale e aperta, dove la dimensione emotiva non è mai accessoria. È un suono che si costruisce in tempo reale, che accoglie l’imprevisto e lo trasforma in possibilità.
GERMI’N’JAZZ, nato dall’incontro tra Manuel Agnelli e Paolo Fresu, si conferma così come uno spazio di attraversamento, una sorta di ponte tra Milano e il mediterraneo. Da una parte, l’esperienza di Germi LdC, laboratorio culturale milanese che negli anni ha ridefinito il concetto di live club, aprendosi a contaminazioni tra musica, letteratura e arti. Dall’altra, la visione mediterranea di Fresu con INSULAE LAB, progetto che immagina un “continente musicale” senza confini, fondato sul dialogo e sulla circolazione delle idee.
Nelle parole di Fresu, l’urgenza è quella di dare voce a un progetto che sappia uscire dai propri confini naturali per trovare nuovi spazi di confronto. Agnelli, dal canto suo, insiste sulla necessità di abbattere gli steccati mentali, rendendo il jazz accessibile anche a un pubblico più giovane, senza rinunciare alla complessità.

The hypnotic flight of Murmuration: borderless jazz lands at Germi
Within the most vibrant folds of Milan’s cultural scene, the GERMI’N’JAZZ series continues to move like a listening organism, capable of turning each event into a meeting point between languages, sensibilities, and sonic geographies. After the first events of 2026, the next chapter—scheduled for Tuesday, April 7—brings MURMURATION to the stage.
The Murmuration project takes its name from the hypnotic beauty of flocks of birds dancing in the sky: a collective behavior without leaders or predefined directions, where form emerges from dynamic and synchronized movement. This image becomes the perfect metaphor for the interplay between the three musicians, engaged in a constant dialogue that blurs the boundaries between composition and improvisation.
It is here that the exchange between Maria Pia De Vito, Huw Warren, and Fulvio Sigurtà takes shape: an interweaving that dissolves the line between writing and improvisation.
At the core, De Vito’s voice—one of the most authoritative in international jazz—moves effortlessly between tradition and research, crossing free jazz, electronics, and Neapolitan culture. Alongside her, Warren’s piano builds complex and layered soundscapes, where European folk, Brazilian suggestions, and an unconventional compositional sensitivity coexist. Completing this dynamic balance, Sigurtà’s trumpet acts as a third narrative voice: measured, intense, capable of giving breath and depth to the story.
The repertoire ranges from original compositions to contemporary reinterpretations, but what truly stands out is a constant tension toward a visceral and open form of jazz, where the emotional dimension is never secondary. It is a sound built in real time, embracing the unexpected and transforming it into possibility.
GERMI’N’JAZZ, born from the encounter between Manuel Agnelli and Paolo Fresu, confirms itself as a space of transition—a sort of bridge between Milan and the Mediterranean. On one side, the experience of Germi LdC, a Milan-based cultural hub that has redefined the concept of a live club through contaminations between music, literature, and the arts. On the other, Fresu’s Mediterranean vision with INSULAE LAB, a project that imagines a “musical continent” without borders, grounded in dialogue and the circulation of ideas.
In Fresu’s words, the urgency lies in giving voice to a project capable of stepping beyond its natural boundaries to find new spaces for exchange. Agnelli, for his part, emphasizes the need to break down mental barriers, making jazz accessible to younger audiences without sacrificing complexity.

Participation requires an ACSI membership card, and entry for each evening is set at €10.
