Questa iniziativa poggia su una solida base di solidarietà, dal momento che tutti i proventi derivanti dalla traccia saranno interamente devoluti a Guitars Over Guns, un'organizzazione no-profit che si dedica al supporto e alla crescita artistica e personale di ragazzi che provengono da contesti sociali ed economici complessi e svantaggiati.

Dietro la nascita di questo brano si sviluppa un grande mosaico collettivo. Il lavoro unisce professionisti affermati, studenti, autori e tecnici in una sinergia nata all'interno del dipartimento Audio Arts della Columbia College Chicago, luogo in cui sono avvenute le registrazioni. L'incontro è stato guidato dal musicista e docente Andre “Add-2” Daniels, professore associato dell'ateneo e direttore regionale del collettivo. Alla scrittura del pezzo, insieme al frontman dei Pearl Jam, ha partecipato un nutrito gruppo di autori tra cui Giselle Castro, Jeremiah Fristoe, Mason Harris, Michael “Myskie” Hightower, Naomi Owens, Joy Viltz, Iya Waters e lo stesso Daniels. La produzione reca le firme prestigiose di Andrew Watt, Paul LaMalfa, Daniels e dello stesso Vedder, mentre la parte strumentale vede il coinvolgimento di figure storiche come Josh Klinghoffer alle tastiere, affiancato da giovani musicisti tra i quali Isabella Santillan alla chitarra, Ayden Smith al basso e Cassidy Lee alla batteria.

Questa sensibilità verso le tematiche civili e l'attivismo non è una novità, ma costituisce il nucleo fondante dell'intera traiettoria artistica di Eddie Vedder. Al di fuori degli studi di registrazione, l'impegno si è tradotto in azioni concrete a favore dei diritti civili, della tutela ambientale con la Surfrider Foundation, e nella creazione insieme alla moglie Jill McCormick della EB Research Partnership, associazione in prima linea per la cura dell'epidermolisi bollosa, una malattia genetica rara che colpisce la pelle. La famiglia Vedder è attiva nel sostenere sia il lavoro dell'organizzazione che i bambini colpiti dal disturbo. The official debut of the track, which delivered a performance of intense emotional power, took place live in an extraordinary context: the Obama Presidential Center Dedication, the official opening ceremony of the Barack Obama Presidential Center, a massive museum and civic campus envisioned by former United States President Barack Obama. This initiative rests on a solid foundation of solidarity, as all proceeds generated by the track will be entirely donated to Guitars Over Guns, a non-profit organization dedicated to the personal and artistic growth of youth coming from complex and disadvantaged social and economic backgrounds.

Behind the birth of this song lies a great collective mosaic. The project brings together established professionals, students, authors, and technicians in a synergy born within the Audio Arts department of Columbia College Chicago, where the recordings took place. The encounter was guided by musician and educator Andre “Add-2” Daniels, associate professor at the college and regional director of the collective. Writing the piece alongside the Pearl Jam frontman was a large group of authors, including Giselle Castro, Jeremiah Fristoe, Mason Harris, Michael “Myskie” Hightower, Naomi Owens, Joy Viltz, Iya Waters, and Daniels himself. The prestigious production bears the signatures of Andrew Watt, Paul LaMalfa, Daniels, and Vedder himself, while the instrumental side features the involvement of historical figures like Josh Klinghoffer on keyboards, flanked by young musicians including Isabella Santillan on guitar, Ayden Smith on bass, and Cassidy Lee on drums.
